Mayacama Member First Friday Pour: Thanksgiving Wines (November 4)

Meet Mayacama Concierges, Angie Eckles and Loreen Geneth

There is so much to do in Wine Country that sometimes deciding on a venue can be a daunting task.  That’s where the experienced team at Mayacama can help. The Concierge team has a wealth of local knowledge and is always willing to share their regional tips to ensure a great outing for you and your family. We recently asked Mayacama Concierges, Angie Eckles and Loreen Geneth, to share some insight, as well as some of their local favorites, with us.

Describe what members enjoy most about being a part of the Mayacama Community:
I think what members really enjoy most is the variety of events that we have at Mayacama. From 1st Friday pours to our annual events such as Easter where all the departments work together to create a memorable experience for our members and their families.

What are 3 Sonoma County Wineries you would recommend members visit:
Chalk Hill Estates Vineyards, Lynmar Estate & Paradise Ridge Winery.

Chalk Hill Estate has more than 1,300 scenic acres and is devoted to vineyards, a hospitality center, culinary garden, stables and an equestrian pavilion. Chalk Hill offers tours & tastings, and a culinary tour, Horseback riding.

Lynmar Estate features a modern look. Its grounds include a sleek and elegant tasting room with clean lines and soaring overhead beams; an expansive courtyard with magnificent views of rolling vineyards and gardens, award winning chardonnay’s and pinot. Lynmar offers a 3 course farm to table lunch Thursday through Sunday (April-October).

Paradise Ridge Winery is known for having “the most beautiful view in Sonoma County.” Paradise Ridge also has an amazing outdoor art gallery at their property. Wednesday Evenings from mid-May through October, visitors are invited to enjoy wines, live music, local gourmet food vendors, all while enjoying spectacular panoramic sunsets from the winery’s expansive veranda and beautiful poetry terrace.

Outside of easy access to some of the most admired wineries and vineyards world-wide, what other reasons make Sonoma County a desirable location to enjoy?
Sonoma County is not only a destination for wine but it is also great for the kiddos. We have the Old Faithful Geyser, The Petrified Forest, zip line and sticker factory.

If you only had 48 hours to spend in the wine country, how would you spend them?:
The first day exploring Alexander Valley visit Alexander Valley Vineyards for a cave tour, Dry Creek Road and stop at Dry Creek General Store for picnic items and stop at Truett Hurst to taste and enjoy lunch, visit 32 Winds, our vintner member, and then finish the day in Healdsburg for cocktails and dinner.  Next day exploring the Sonoma coast. Take Westside road to Korbel for a tastings and to stop at their delicatessen and head to Armstrong Redwoods. Travel towards Jenner and Bodega Bay and stop at beaches along the way. If you are over at Bodega on Fri– Mon stop at Wild Flour Bread Bakery. A great little stop for coffee, pastries and garden.
