Wine Country Movies Under Starry Nights

There is no better way to spend a warm, summer evening than taking in a outdoor movie.  It’s a great way to beat the heat while having a fun evening together doing something the whole family will enjoy.  Wine Country doesn’t disappoint when it comes to movies under a star-filled sky.

We’ve put together a short list of outdoor movie venues that is sure to be a hit with the entire family.

Gundlach Bundschu Winery Outdoor Amphitheater
Saturday, June 24
A not-so-silent movie night featuring Charlie Chaplin’s “City Lights”  with the original musical score performed live by our orchestra. Doors open at 7:00 pm. Wine bars open until 9:30 pm.  Food vendors on-site. Movie begins at sunset.  Ticket and more information can be found here.

St. Francis Winery “Stars Under the Stars” Outdoor Film Festival
Thursdays | July 6-27 | 7pm
Pack a blanket and join us on the lawn of our beautiful Sonoma Valley Tasting Room for a film under the stars. Back for its eighth year, our Stars Under the Stars Outdoor Film Festival takes place every Thursday night at the Winery from July 6 to July 27. Seating on the lawn begins at 7pm with a pre-show concert and wine reception. El Coyote Food Truck will be serving delicious Mexican food available for purchase. Our feature film begins at dusk. Festival sommelier and film aficionado Christopher Sawyer will pair St. Francis’ world class wines with world class films. More information can be found here.

Fridays, August 11 – September 15
A little later in the summer but family fun not to be missed.  Take the family, a picnic, and a blanket for a fun night at the movies under the stars in Howarth Park! Each Friday from Aug. 11 through Sept. 15, movies will start at dusk (around 8 p.m. in August and 7:45 p.m. in September). Enjoy pre-movie entertainment.
