December Events in Wine Country

The last month of 2017 doesn’t disappoint when it comes to local events.  From crab feeds to Holiday concerts, Santa runs to lighting ceremonies, there is something for everyone to enjoy during the month of December in Wine Country.

Annual Lighting of the Snowmen Festival (December 2)
This year, the Lighting of the Snowmen kicks off with a festival and actual lighting on December 2nd and the display will remain up through the end of December for all to enjoy!  This Cornerstone classic will feature music, kids’ crafts, wine + beer tasting, warm drinks, delicious food, festive decorations and more! San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus “Home for the Holidays” – A Benefit for Face to Face (December 2)
“Home For The Holidays” is an incredible holiday celebration, full of humor, personality, and gorgeous choral music. SFGMC’s performance features classic holiday favorites, alongside some new works that are sure to warm your heart and get you in the festive mood.Net proceeds support F2F’s mission of ending HIV in Sonoma County while also caring for clients affected by the recent firestorms. 17th Annual Windsor Holiday Celebration and Tree Lighting (December 7)
Begin your holiday season with graceful horse-drawn carriages, music fun and even a visit from Santa, all at Windsor Town Green. More information can be found here.

Santa Rosa SantaCon (December 9)
Grab your Santa hat and get as festive as you want as we support local businesses and continue to raise money for fire victims across Sonoma County. More information can be found here.

Oyster Shucking Workshop at SHED (December 9)
Explore the wonderful world of oysters with our chef and culinary educator in this oyster tasting and shucking demonstration. You’ll learn about the history, flavor profile, and preparation of oysters and why they make the perfect appetizer for your holiday gathering. More information can be found here.

Holiday Lighted Boat Parade (December 9)
A flotilla of decorated boats make a spectacular arrival at the Petaluma River Turning Basin in the heart of historic downtown; Arriving about 6:15pm. More information can be found here.

Tides Wharf Crab Feed Series (December 15)
The Annual Crab Feed Series at The Tides Wharf Restaurant in Bodega Bay features chilled Dungeness crab, cocktail sauce, drawn butter, Tides’ mustard sauce, clam chowder, pasta, green salad, and French bread. Reservations are recommended.  A Sonoma County tradition.  More information can be found here.

Dave Koz 20th Anniversary Christmas Concert with David Benoit, Rick Braun and Peter White (December 17)
This year’s 20th anniversary tour promises to be extra-special, reuniting Koz with two members of the original lineup – David Benoit and Peter White – and Rick Braun, a guest on many of Dave’s holiday jaunts, dating back to the early years. Newcomer Selina Albright will also join in the festivities. Together, the five remarkable artists will perform fresh renditions of Christmas classics as well as a Chanukah medley and hits from their respective catalogs.  More information can be found here.

Christmas Eve Dinner at John Ash & Co. (December 24)

Happy New Year, Charlie Brown! (December 31)
Ring in the New Year with hands-on crafts for kids, Santa Rosa’s only Up-Down and Baby Balloon drops at Noon, and root beer toasts at Noon and 3:00 pm! Great fun for the little ones before the adults head out for the evening. More information can be found here.
