Petaluma Music Festival (Aug. 6 – 11:30am to 9:30pm)

Sonoma County Blues Festival (SOMO Village Event Center, Rohnert Park Aug. 7 – Opens at 1:00pm, begins at 2:00pm)
Enjoy an afternoon of blues in Wine Country. The Sonoma County Blues Festival returns with great music and a long history, which has included established acts as well as emerging artists in the blues world. This year features Sonny Landreth, recent winner of the Blues Music Award for Best Instrumentalist Guitar, award winning blues vocalist Janiva Magness, cutting edge bluesman Lightinin Malcolm and rising locals HowellDevine. 36th Annual Bodega Fire Big Event BBQ (Aug. 7 – 10:30am to 5:00pm)
Head towards the coast and experience a taste of small town charm at the 36th Annual Bodega Fire Big Event BBQ. It’s a big day of family fun in the little town of Bodega! The Big Event begins with Sonoma County’s Shortest Parade at 10:30 a.m. followed from 10:45 a.m. until 5 p.m with live Country and Rock n Roll music along with BBQ chicken and tri-tip lunch served with salad, beans, and garlic bread. Beer on tap, wine, mimosas, and Bloody Mary’s will be available. There will also be kids’ games and craft vendors; this event is pet friendly and parking is free. Gravenstein Apple Fair (Aug. 13 & 14 – 10:00am to 6:00pm)
The 43rd annual Gravenstein Apple Fair will be held under the shade of majestic oaks in Ragle Ranch Park in Sebastopol. Enjoy live music on two stages, arts & crafts vendors, contests and activities, and excellent local food, craft beer, cider, & wine. There will be plenty of kid-friendly events as well. Of course, Sebastopol’s famous heirloom Gravenstein apples will be celebrated and available in many delicious forms. Adults (ages 13 and over) $12; Children (ages 6 to 12) $8. Learn more here.
Healdsburg Water Carnival (Aug. 13 – 11:00am to 5:00pm)
Cool off on a warm, summer day at the Healdsburg Water Carnival. Join the fun on the Russian River where you will experience Sonoma County’s only floating wine-barrel races, the Great American Rubber Duck Dash with cool prizes, children’s games as well as activities, live music, and delicious food prepared by local food truck chefs. Taste of Petaluma (Aug. 20 – 11:30am to 4:00pm)
Explore the tastes and flavors on a culinary walking tour of Petaluma’s finest restaurants, galleries, shops, wineries and breweries. Sample Petaluma’s upscale food and art scene in one afternoon while you stroll through the historic downtown. Various entertainers will be performing. Choose from 50 different participants, ready to tempt you with some incredible food and wines. Learn more here.
The Santa Rosa Full and Half Marathon and Downtown 5K and 10K (Aug. 28 – 6:00am to 1:00pm)
The 8th annual Santa Rosa Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K returns to Wine Country. The course starts in Juilliard Park and the first two miles run through scenic Downtown Santa Rosa. It is a flat, fast course that then continues along the scenic Prince Memorial Greenway. Mile 8 – 19 takes runners through beautiful West Sonoma County and runs through De Loach Vineyards and even their barrel room. The Post-Race Festival will be held at Juilliard Park in downtown Santa Rosa from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. with food and fun for all, including a farmers market and kids’ activities.
