Castles and Kites – May 6
Bring the whole family to Doran Beach and celebrate the joys of sandcastle building and kite flying. Amateurs and experts are welcome. Bring your own kite or purchase one from local vendors. Kokedama Workshop – May 6 from 1-2:30pm
Make your own kokedama and create a garden on a string with the guidance of SHED’s floral designer Sue Volkel in this hands-on workshop at SHED. Very similar to bonsai, the plant and roots of a kokedama are contained in a small space.
Harvest with Stefani Bittner & Alethea Harampolis – May 13 from 1-2:30pm
Learn to create beautiful floral arrangements and botanical-based culinary and body care products with the harvest from your backyard garden with designers and authors Stefani Bittner and Alethea Harampolis of Homestead Design Collective. Visit the events site to register.
Derby Day – May 6
The Meals on Wheels Derby Day is one of the most memorable charitable events of the region. Celebrating the rich traditions of the Kentucky Derby®, attendees walk the catwalk with their finest Derby-inspired apparel and compete for prizes. A team of Sonoma County chefs will prepare a four-course, southern-inspired gourmet luncheon. Film Festival Petaluma – May 6
Film Fest Petaluma returns to the Mystic Theatre in historic downtown Petaluma. Programs feature a broad mix of animated, live action, and documentary shorts. Spring at Jordan – May 13
The annual Spring at Jordan party returns to Jordan Winery. The Spring at Jordan event is a celebration of Jordan Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon new vintage releases, hosted on the Winery Chateau lawns. More information can be found here.
Mother’s Day at Russian River Rose – May 14
Experience the beauty and fragrance of the once-blooming antique roses and stroll down the Rose Allee with huge rambling roses billowing down from 12’X12′ arches in Healdsburg. Enjoy the ‘Butterfly Garden,’ the ‘Rose History Trail,’ and the fragrant Perfume Rose Fields. Cruisin’ the Boulevard – May 20
Enjoy a day of classic American cars, cruising, rock ‘n roll, and the happy days of the ‘50s and early ‘60s at Cruisin’ the Boulevard. Petaluma was one of the main shooting locations for the classic movie, American Graffiti. More information can be found here.

Oysterpalooza returns to Valley Ford. The ninth annual Oysterpalooza will take place at Rocker Oysterfeller’s at the Valley Ford Hotel. This celebration of the oyster will include live music from three local bands playing Americana, Roots and Bluegrass. More information can be found here.
